During May 11~13, 2012, the InterWEIGHING2012 was held successfully at Nanjing International Expo Centre. A total of 340 exhibitors, who were from 22 provinces in Mainland China and others from the United States, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Britain, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Ukraine, Japan, South Korea, India and China Taiwan & Hong Kong, enthusiastically participated in this exhibition. Lots of exhibitors have much confident with this exhibition, they actively registered to attend the exhibition, the amount of exhibitors increased 9.6% than 2011. The exhibition area was 24000 square meters. The exhibitor’s booth area increased 4.5% than 2011. The area of custom-built booths were close to 3/4 of the total exhibition area. This year's exhibition has become the largest ever in the history of the InterWEIGHING. According to incomplete statistics, in all of the exhibitors, 57% of them, exhibits are commercial/industrial weighing instruments; 6% of them, exhibits are kitchen scale, bathroom scale, pocket scale etc.; 12% of them, exhibits are balance; 15% of them, exhibits are load cell/weighing indicator; 2% of them, exhibits are weight; 8% of them, exhibits are other.
The opening ceremony of the InterWEIGHING2012 was held at 9:30am on May 11 in Nanjing International Expo Centre. The opening ceremony was host by Mr. Liu Guojing, Secretary-general of CWIA and Mr. Zhang Shanmei, Honorary President of CWIA gave an opening speech. Mr. Peter Mason, President of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) and Mr. John Hughes, President of the International Society of Weighing and Measurement of the U.S.A. (ISWM), also delivered the speeches separately to express the wishes of complete success of InterWEIGHING2012. Officers from China National Light Industry Council, Metrology Bureau of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of P.R.C., and Jiangsu & Nanjing Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, as well as Mr. Peter Mason, President of the OIML, Mr. John Hughes, President of the ISWM, Mr. Toru Kojima, Leader of Japan Measuring Instruments Federation Delegation, Mr. Don Onwiler, National Conference of Weighing and Measurement of the U.S.A., and Mr. Wang Wenhe, President of Taipei Measuring Instruments Association cut the ribbon for the exhibition Opening Ceremony. According to incomplete statistics, the number of professional visitors amount to 9,100 people who came from 30 provinces of China and 58 countries of worldwide. 11% of the visitors were from Nanjing, and 81% are non- local. 8% of them came from out of China Mainland. In exhibition period, the organizer held a one and half days <Weighing Technology Seminars & New Tech, New Products Press Conference>. During the meeting, CWIA's Load Cell Committee and Weighing Indicator Committee issued the award of Load Cell/ Weighing Indicator Excellent Thesis to the writers. The host has invited Researcher Mr. Liu Jiuqing and Senior Engineer Mr. Chen Rixing delivered the special Lecture separately on topics of “New Challenges for Load Cell Industry” and “Function Safety Integration System and Development of Weighing Technology”. Then, altogether 7 enterprises introduced the latest scientific research to the audience. The main theme is on the following:
The seminar was not only rich in content but also varied in style. It showed the latest scientific and technological achievements and attracted a large crowd. After every presentation, the audiences raised a series of questions to the speaker, exchange opinions and achieved the desired results. This seminar provides exhibitors with a value added service, as well as a good platform for exchanging of new technologies and new products. During the exhibiting period, more than 2000 " Proceedings of Weighing Technology" which is specially prepared for professional visitors were snapped up. The InterWeighing2012 focused on showing the newest weighing
technology and products R&D by exhibitors from around the world,
which include all kinds of scales, balance, weighing system,
indicator, load cell, testing instrument and device, electronic
component and materials used in weighing instrument. These exhibits
reflected the latest technological achievements of weighing industry
in today's world, meanwhile, showed current development level of
weighing industry in today's China. The exhibition also had been
concerned of many users of weighing instruments. Many business
people from metallurgy, chemicals, machinery, transportation, food,
oil and other industrial systems, who used weighing instruments a
lot, came to visit the exhibition in succession. Many trade
companies and distributors came to the exhibition for trade talks
with the exhibitor. In order to accelerate the pace of development,
some weighing enterprises sent their staff to the exhibition to get
latest information, exchange experiences and explore cooperation.
Many exhibitors and customers signed supply contracts or intent
contracts on the exhibition. They expressed satisfaction with the
exhibition, and commend the exhibition had a real effects in
enterprises promotion, technology exchanges and products launch to
markets. The exhibitors felt that they were reap a huge harvest from
the exhibition, and showed intention to attend next one. They hope
the organizer could promote the exhibition into a world-class level
international professional exhibition.
